The Article “Former Abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino” (http://prolifeaction.org/providers/levatino.php – this website supports the end to abortion and only presents one side of this issue) tells about an abortionist who changed his ways after his only child, who was adopted, gets hit by a car and dies. The purpose of this article is to persuade the reader that abortion is horrifying and wrong and that the child in the womb really is a human life. The author uses words with a strong connotation such as “destroying a life” to describe abortion. The main idea of this article is that abortion affects everyone, from the baby being aborted to the abortionist performing the abortion. I know this because in the article, it says, “If you have any heart at all, it affects you.” The author’s viewpoint is that abortion is wrong and that life is truly precious (“After a few months of that I started to realize – this is somebody’s child…I am killing somebody’s child”). I know this information is accurate because the website is reliable (shows copyright date, ways to contact the organization, holds events around the country, links to other pro-life websites, etc.), there are pictures of the author giving this speech, and there are no grammatical/conventional errors. The source, although, is biased because it is a pro-life organization and supports the end to abortion. The article is biased because the author’s opinion is pro life. The author’s viewpoint is also slanted because of his experiences with abortion. There is a lot of opinion in this article but the story is true.
